Texas Produce Industry Leaders Inducted into Hall of Fame

Nearly 120 people attended the 2022 Texas Produce Hall of Fame banquet and ceremony on Monday evening, January 24th, at the Mission Event Center in Mission, Texas. Organized by the Texas International Produce Association, the Hall of Fame has been a proud tradition since 1988. For 34 years, the event has recognized industry leaders who have made exceptional contributions crucial to the long-term success of the trade.

TIPA Mourns the Loss of Longtime Leader, Mr. John McClung

On Saturday, October 2nd, 2021, Mr. John McClung – former President and CEO of the Texas Produce Association (predecessor to TIPA) – passed away in the late hours of the evening in South Texas. John was a leader not only for the Texas produce industry, but for all of fresh produce. Even a decade after his retirement, John is still remembered for his many great achievements during the course of his career. 

Viva Fresh Expo Wants YOU: the Third Annual Clean Eating Challenge

The 2020 Viva Fresh Clean Eating challenge captured the attention of the produce industry leading into this past year’s long-awaited Viva Fresh Expo as 40 participants challenged themselves to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into their daily routines.

FPAA and TIPA Support Bipartisan Efforts to Maintain the Standard Definitions in 2019 Tomato Suspension Agreement

The Fresh Produce Association of the Americas (FPAA) and the Texas International Produce Association (TIPA) applaud the efforts of Congressman Vicente Gonzalez in leading a bipartisan letter addressed to the Secretary of Commerce, Gina Raimondo, regarding a proposal to reinterpret parts of the 2019 Suspension Agreement on Fresh Tomatoes from Mexico (TSA).

Texas Onion Industry Wraps Up First-Ever Marketing Campaign

The 2020 – 2021 Texas 1015 Sweet Onion (TX1015) marketing campaign has wrapped up for the season. This new marketing program of the Texas International Produce Association (TIPA) was funded by a USDA Specialty Crop Grant administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture, and focused efforts directly on American consumers through a variety of platforms, engagements and awareness campaigns.
