FDA Releases Small Entity Compliance Guide on Final Rule to Revoke the SOIs for Lowfat Yogurt and Nonfat Yogurt and to Amend the Standard for Yogurt

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the availability of a Small Entity Compliance Guide (SECG) to help explain the actions a small entity must take to comply with recent changes made to “Milk and Cream Products and Yogurt Products; Final Rule To Revoke the Standards for Lowfat Yogurt and Nonfat Yogurt and To Amend the Standard for Yogurt.”

Urgent Food Recall— Raspberry Crème Filled Cookie

Wine Country Gift Baskets is taking precautionary measures of voluntarily recalling all gift baskets produced with Acorn Baking Company raspberry crème filled cookies. During production, it was discovered that some packages of the raspberry crème filled cookies contained hazelnut crème filled cookies. Hazelnut is a tree nut and listed as one of the nine major food allergens. The allergen statement on each individual cookie package states “May Contain Traces of Peanuts, Hazelnuts, Almonds, Sesame, Sulphites” as these two cookies are produced in the same facility.

All CF Dallas fresh-cut fruit products associated with the recalled whole cantaloupe have expired, however consumers who have purchased these items and may have frozen them for later use are urged not to consume the products and to dispose of them immediately or return the items to their local store for a full refund.

Restaurants and food retailers in Delaware (DE), Florida (FL), Illinois (IL), Maryland (MD), New Jersey (NJ), New York (NY), Pennsylvania (PA), Rhode Island (RI), and Texas (TX) that have recently purchased raw oysters, labeled as lots L466B and 466A. These oysters were illegally harvested from Milford Approved area in Connecticut on 11/12/2023 and 11/15/2023.
