Small Farms Now Access ASC Certification Through Group Certification

More than 1,000 small-scale farms have already earned Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) certification for responsibly farmed seafood, as a result of ASC’s group certification.

At Seafood Expo Global, the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) and Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on April 25 formalizing their common goal of increasing the sustainability of aquaculture production and practices around the globe. 

Second Edition of Aquaculture Stewardship Council and Sustainable Shrimp Partnership’s Shrimp Summit in Ecuador Attracts Buyers from Major Markets Across the Globe

Following a successful inaugural of the Shrimp Summit in July 2022, the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) and Sustainable Shrimp Partnership (SSP) are hosting another ASC Shrimp Summit on June 12-14, 2023. In 2022, ASC buyers and seafood suppliers from the United States and Canada such as Sysco, Alberton’s, Disney, Ahold Delhaize USA, Metro, and Loblaws joined the event. This year, shrimp buyers from all three major and promising export markets of Ecuador – North America, Europe, and Japan – have confirmed their participation.

ASC Receives Highest Score Amongst Seafood Farming Certifications Schemes In Human Rights at Sea Report

In March 2023, the non-governmental organisation Human Rights at Sea (HRAS) issued consolidated and updated data sets behind the report “Does it do What it Says on the Tin?” and amended the scores after review and engagement with rated organisations.
