Seafood Business Executive Indicted

NORTH ATTLEBORO – The controller of a former North Attleboro seafood business has been charged with conspiracy to commit bank fraud in a scheme that allegedly bilked Wells Fargo Bank of millions of dollars.

Christopher Day, 48, of Rhode Island, who worked as the controller for Ocean Fresh Seafood Inc., has been charged with conspiracy to commit bank fraud in U.S. District Court, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced this week.

Also facing charges relating to the scheme is Robert Coutu, 53, the owner and president of the firm who earlier was charged in a 17-count indictment with conspiracy, bank fraud and money laundering.
