Review Of P.E.I. Lobster Industry Proposes Greater Cooperation

ALBERTON — An independent review of the Prince Edward Island lobster industry has concluded that, while the lobster season was not an easy one for industry stakeholders, the prices paid were actually realistic.
That finding is based on various factors, including inventory, landings and currency exchange rates.
“We also heard a desire from industry in all facets to achieve better results. A clear path forward will be essential if industry at all levels is to be successful,” the review notes.
