Record Season for Lobster Fishermen in the Gaspé

More than 10.9 million pounds of lobster were landed in the 12-week Gaspé season, generating cargoes worth over $83 million and setting a new record. Landings rose about 5% from 2024 while total value jumped by $10 million year-over-year, surpassing the previous high of more than 10.7 million pounds in the 2023 season, according to Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
According to the preliminary report from Fisheries and Oceans Canada, more than 10.9 million pounds of lobster were landed during the 12 weeks of fishing in the Gaspé, with cargoes worth more than $83 million: a record season.
Landings are thus up 5% compared to 2024, while the total value has increased by 10 million dollars compared to last year.
The previous record was set in the 2023 season with more than 10.7 million pounds of lobster.
