PORTLAND, Ore. – Pacific Seafood Group will have a strong presence at this year’s Bite of Oregon festival which runs August 12th to the 14th at Portland’s Governor Tom McCall Waterfront Park. Pacific Seafood joins the many vendors highlighting all the culinary delights Oregon has to offer. This year at its festival booth Pacific Seafood will be sampling Humboldt Bay Kumamoto Oysters and Columbia River Steelhead.
Friday morning Chef Jonathan Hoffman, winner of 2015 & 2016 Iron Chef Goes Coastal competition, will be doing a segment for Fox 12 cooking with Pacific Seafood oysters and Columbia River Steelhead. Also on Friday, KATU will feature Pacific Seafood in a segment about oyster shucking. Columbia River Steelhead is produced by Pacific Seafood’s steelhead farm, which has earned Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification by the Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA), and is the first Salmon/Steelhead farm to be BAP certified in the U.S. Additionally, the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch program has given Steelhead Trout a BEST CHOICE recommendation.
Humboldt Bay Kumamoto Oysters are grown in the pristine waters of the Pacific Ocean and packed in SQF Level 3 certified facilities. These Kumamoto facilities also have the distinction of being the only ones to have both the farms and process facility sustainably certified for all products.
