Missouri's Quixotic Farming Opens Second Tilapia Farm

Quixotic Farming, a family-owned sustainable seafood company that raises traceable United States Tilapia without the use of hormones or antibiotics, celebrated the opening of its second Tilapia farm with an Open House for invited guests on June 6, 2014, in Chillicothe, Missouri.
Until recently, Quixotic Farming has been raising clean Tilapia, free of antibiotics, added hormones and genetic modifications, in indoor tanks out of their flagship farm in Colorado. But with the demand of Quixotic’s traceable United States Tilapia increasing rapidly, building a second farm with the same sustainable industry practices was the next logical step. The new farm is located in Chillicothe, Missouri, and will eventually produce more than triple the amount of clean Tilapia raised in the Colorado farm.
In line with Quixotic’s dedication to sustainable farming, both locations are equipped with state of the art filtration and recirculation systems that keep the waters flowing and clear of waste at all times. With covered tanks, Quixotic Farming is able to monitor and regulate the water and the fish with extreme efficiency. More and more people have become aware of the dangers that come from unknown factors in their seafood like how and where the fish were raised.
