PORTSMOUTH The High Liner Foods processing plant has been one of the manufacturing mainstays on the Seacoast for decades and it is one of the least known.
Owned by the Nova Scotia based-High Liner Foods, Inc., the American headquarters and plant in Portsmouth processes more than 48 million pounds of white fish such as haddock, cod, and pollock annually with the value added seafood products going out to retail and food service markets.
Keith Decker, High Liner Foods (USA) president and chief operating officer, said one of the keys to the company’s success and growth in a hyper-competitive industry has been its ability to incorporate modern methods of automation while keeping a cohesive work force.
“We have a great culture and a dedicated work force,” said Decker, a 21-year seafood industry veteran.
