From regional favorites such as walleye and whitefish to ubiquitous catfish and tilapia, some of the best aquatic eating comes from streams, lakes and ponds.
Bait your own hook, if you wish. Or rely on local fish markets, most of which are well-stocked with freshwater choices, whether wild or farmed, fresh or smoked.
If you catch your own, you won't have to gulp about the price.
