Crawfish Are Larger As This Season Kicks Off

CALCASIEU PARISH, LA – You might be able to have crawfish for Christmas this year. A few local seafood restaurants have already put out signs advertising they have it, so is this a sign of an early crawfish season?

One local restaurant and a crawfish farmer both said crawfish season typically runs from December through mid-June. So it's not unusual to be able to eat crawfish this time of year, but crawfish fanatics who buy a batch now will definitely notice something different.

"We've got a really nice size due to the weather," said Scott Landry, Seafood Palace spokesman..

Seafood Palace, located on Enterprise Boulevard, has already put out their street sign advertising "Boiled Crab" and crawfish.
