Upstate Niagara Cooperative, a collective of Western New York dairy farmers, will supply Greek yogurt to several school districts in New York State.

The member-owned co-op was selected by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to supply districts in Buffalo, Brentwood, Waterford and Halfmoon as part of the National School Lunch Program. It successfully completed a two-year pilot program supplying vanilla, strawberry and blueberry Greek nonfat yogurt to districts in Arizona, New York and Tennessee. The USDA added nonfat Greek yogurt to list of approved meat substitutes because of its high protein content.
