Tops Markets LLC will start the new year with an upscale supermarket concept and, if successful, the store could be a template for a fresh expansion tract for the region’s largest supermarket chain.
President and CEO Frank Curci confirmed that when Orchard Fresh opens in Orchard Park Plaza, it will be a smaller store with a focus on specialty food products.
“We are not talking about your normal grocery store lineup,” he said. “We are talking about specialty foods and upscale foods, with a heavy bent toward healthy and natural and organic foods.”
