Supervalu Sells Payson Store Fixtures

Supervalu Inc. has sold its Payson Store Fixtures division to DGS Retail Inc. in Boston for an undisclosed amount, according to a Tuesday press release from Quazar Capital Corp., the Minneapolis investment banking firm that represented Payson on the deal.

Payson designs and manufactures a broad range of fixtures, millwork and dcor elements for supermarkets, pharmacies and other retailers. Eden Prairie-based Supervalu (NYSE: SVU) acquired the division, formerly known as the Albersons Mill, in its 2006 acquisition of the Boise, Idaho-based Albertsons grocery chain.

Like Payson, DGS also designs and manufactures custom dcor, millwork and store fixtures for major retailers, including grocers, pharmacies and boutique retailers.
