NEW YORK, NY – Regional supermarket chain Wegmans has turned to Schimenti Construction for its new flagship location in Brooklyn, NY.
The 77,000 square-foot store will serve as the company’s 100th location and it’s first in New York City.
Wegmans is a regional supermarket chain with stores in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, and Massachusetts. The family-owned company is one of the largest private companies in the U.S.
Wegmans stores are designed to replicate the feel of a European, open-air market with aisles of fresh produce, artesian breads, imported cheeses, cafes and restaurant quality shops along with all the grocery, dairy, frozen, and household items usually found in a supermarket.
The new store will be located at 21 Flushing Avenue in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
General construction is scheduled to last 33 weeks and the store is scheduled for a Grand Opening in the Spring of 2019.
