Willis Stein & Partnersis apparently trying to sell its stake in Roundy’s Inc. (NYSE: RNDY) once again a week after raising $187.5 million in an initial public offering for the company.
Crain’s Chicago Business, citing Bloomberg News, said the Chicago private equity firm is trying to sell most of its remaining investments, including Roundy’s.
Willis Stein bought Roundy’s for $750 million in 2002 and tried to sell it in 2007 and again in 2011. In December, it announced plans to take the company public, with Willis Stein retaining majority control.
