Maines Paper & Food Service Inc. will build a 400,000-square-foot distribution center at the Terrell Airport Business Park in October that will employ up to 400 workers.
Terrell is about 30 miles east of downtown Dallas.
This will be the first distribution center for the New York-based independent food service distributor to open west of the Mississippi River. It will serve 196 restaurants throughout Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri and Oklahoma. The facility will open in April 2012.
“We’re excited to be coming to Texas,” said COO Terry Walsh. “We are building the distribution center in conjunction with the growth of our customers. We wanted to expand to Texas to accommodate our customers.”
