Instacart Business has launched Pay-With-Invoice, a convenient payment option for business customers, developed in partnership with Balance. This feature streamlines payment processes, allowing companies to manage orders and cash flow effortlessly. Customers can gain visibility into spending, utilize net-30 terms, and switch to invoicing at no extra cost. Andrew Nodes, VP and GM, highlighted how this initiative supports organizations in managing procurement efficiently, catering to their unique needs while simplifying expense processes.
Beginning today, we’re excited to launch Pay-With-Invoice, a new and more convenient way for Instacart Business customers to pay. Through a strategic partnership with Balance, a financial infrastructure platform for B2B commerce with deep technical and operational expertise in the space, we’re bringing scalable payment options designed to meet the unique procurement needs of businesses.
Pay-With-Invoice easily manages all Instacart Business orders in a single place, helping customers control their cash flow with confidence by seamlessly integrating payments with existing organizational payment processes. Through this new joint partnership, Instacart Business will allow for smoother payment through invoicing to ensure we’re meeting businesses’ needs and standards.
“We’re excited to make it easier than ever for our business customers to plan and pay for what they need, whether through single or consolidated invoices or paying with a credit card,” said Andrew Nodes, VP and GM of Instacart Business & Supply Chain. “We know many organizations carry strict internal payment requirements and by partnering with Balance, we’re unlocking new ways for companies to take advantage of Instacart’s selection and speed, all while managing their purchases and cash flow effectively so they can focus on growing their business.”
Instacart Business’ Pay-With-Invoice gives key visibility into streamlined payment operations across secure, frictionless rails allowing customers to manage spending with ease. Business customers on Instacart can switch over to invoicing at no additional cost and access:
- Spend visibility and exportable reporting across your organization
- Expedient underwriting for SMB, enterprise, and organizations of all sizes
- Net-30 terms with the possibility for additional flexibility (conditions apply)
“Pay-With-Invoice has provided a huge benefit to us,” said Sam Mendal, Director of Purchasing, at bartaco. “We’ve utilized Instacart Business as a solution for day-to-day 911’s given their fresh selection and unmatched delivery speed — but this new invoicing option has taken things to the next level. It’s helped us streamline procurement and eliminate the hassle of juggling multiple credit card payments each month while maintaining accuracy in weekly reporting. As a purchasing and operations leader at one of the fastest-growing restaurant chains in the country, I need partners who can keep up with our pace and reduce complexity — and Instacart Business delivers on both.”
“As a health-focused organization, Instacart Business allows us the opportunity to offer our employees fresh, healthy snack options and streamlines our same-day ordering process to keep our multiple locations well stocked,” said Pshyra Sheriff, Executive Assistant to CEO at Milken Institute. “Setting up our Instacart Business account was easy and Pay-By-Invoice has drastically streamlined the expense process for our accounts payable team without the stress of tracking down receipts.”
To get started, Instacart Business customers can now get access to payment terms and credit purchase limits with a few quick and easy steps.* Simply create a business account or login into your existing Instacart Business account and then click on the new “invoicing” tab in account settings.
Real-time credit checks through Balance allow approved customers (and their linked team members) to immediately start paying by invoice at checkout, and easily view and manage their charges in one single place across their business and team members. Customers who choose to pay by debit or credit card can still do so at checkout.
As part of Instacart Business’ ongoing commitment to helping our customers better manage their spend across their organization and seamlessly integrate with their procurement processes, we’re continuously enhancing the platform with new features. Recently, we also rolled out spend limits and we will be launching order approvals very soon, giving business admins greater control over their teams’ ordering activity. These tools work across all payment methods—not just invoicing—making it easier to stay on budget and aligned with internal purchasing policies.
Instacart Business has become a critical asset for businesses of all sizes, from helping restaurants and cafes source last-minute ingredients to ensuring that professional offices, daycare centers, and medical facilities have the onsite food and beverage solutions they need. Instacart Business now helps get the supplies they need to keep their business moving, offering an expansive selection of retailers to let organizations quickly and easily order from the stores they already know and love.
