GIANT Completes Major Remodels at Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Stores

CARLISLE, Pa.  – On July 24, The GIANT Company, known locally as GIANT and MARTIN’S, will celebrate grand re-openings of its two Chambersburg, Pa., stores located at 925 Norland Ave. and 993 Wayne Ave. following several months of major renovations. To mark completion of the remodels, customers can enjoy festivities and product samplings at each store throughout the day. 

“This remodel enabled us to improve efficiencies and flow throughout the store for our customers, while showcasing GIANT’S commitment to value and freshness with more product variety and updates to our produce and other fresh departments,” said Matthew Koppenhaver, Norland Avenue GIANT store manager. “The entire Norland Avenue team can’t wait to showcase what’s new for our customers!”

Both stores remained open during the remodels. Updates included:

• The stores’ signature fresh departments – produce, bakery, meat and seafood – in addition to the center store aisles have all been updated with improved efficiencies for shoppers and enhanced assortment of products.

• For today’s busy customers, the deli and prepared foods departments have undergone a complete overhaul and now offer more hot and prepared foods and Grab ‘n Go items.

• The stores’ beer and wine areas have been relocated to the front corner.

• The Norland Avenue store pharmacy also received a full redesign and replacement with the addition of a consultation room to administer vaccines in a more private setting, while the Wayne Avenue store now has a brand-new customer service alcove to better serve customers.

• GIANT’S signature Wall of Values has also been reimagined in both stores, offering one-stop shopping for key sale items from the weekly circular.

“Customers will notice a new look and feel throughout the store and our dedicated store team is ready with kindness to assist them in their shopping needs,” said Bryan Robertson, Wayne Avenue GIANT store manager. “In addition to their favorite products, there’s also a great combination of new offerings and products for customers to try, especially in the prepared foods area.”

As part of the grand re-opening festivities on Friday, July 24, Chambersburg customers can enjoy a gift card raffle, giveaways and free cake. A variety of product samplings will take place throughout the fresh departments with vendor partners Boar’s Head, Country Acres, Rastelli Burgers, and Hissho Sushi, among others. Throughout the day at both stores, customers can also enjoy national brand sampling in the center store aisles, including special visits from Chester Cheetah and Osito the Bimbo Bakeries Bear. Kids can decorate their own sugar cookies near the bakery, too.

The Norland Avenue GIANT, which has served the local community since 2007, is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and employs approximately 180 team members.
