With some food shoppers caught up in a coupon frenzy these days, a major grocery store is changing the way people can save money in Southern Arizona.

Fry’s Food Store as of Sept. 14 is no longer rounding up to $1 the value of money-off coupons at its stores in the greater Tucson area, Sierra Vista, Yuma and Casa Grande, the company has announced. Fry’s local store is in Sahuarita at the Rancho Sahuarita Marketplace.

“Given the growing popularity of digital coupons, mobile coupons and manufacturer’s coupons, it is time for a new promotion,” said Jo Ellen Lynn, public affairs director for Fry’s Food Stores.

Similar to its food ads that change each week, Fry’s is changing its coupon policies in those stores so coupons will be accepted at face value only.
