The Burns Family’s ShopRite of Drexeline in Drexel Hill, PA, recently held a ceremonial check presentation for $14,628 to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. The funds will support research to develop better treatments and cures for children with cancer.
The locally owned supermarket chain, which operates two ShopRite and five The Fresh Grocer locations in the Greater Philadelphia area, organized in-store lemonade stands and at-the-register fundraisers for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.
Since 2018, the Burns Family’s ShopRite and Fresh Grocer supermarkets have raised over $125,000 for the foundation, funding more than 2,500 hours of critical research in the fight against childhood cancer.
ShopRite of Drexeline raised the most funds during this year’s campaign and will host the check presentation. The Burns’ supermarkets are locally owned by Pat Burns, who has more than 40 years of experience in the supermarket industry and proudly operates in the Greater Philadelphia area. The check presentation was October 8th.
