TYLER, Texas —Brookshire Grocery Company’s 26th Annual Benefit Golf Tournament held Monday raised more than $450,000 for various children’s charities in BGC’s market area. This year’s tournament took place at six golf courses in the Tyler area, including Hollytree, Cascades, Willow Brook, Garden Valley, Eagles Bluff, and Pine Dunes country clubs.
An appreciation dinner at Harvey Convention Center followed the tournament to recognize the 600 individuals who participated, included numerous manufacturers and vendors to Brookshire Grocery Company. BGC President and CEO Rick Rayford presented a check representing the proceeds to some of the organizations that benefit from the event. Those present included Children’s Miracle Network, Boys and Girls Clubs, Children’s Advocacy Centers and Discovery Science Place.
“This tournament is one of our largest donation efforts, and allows us to partner with our vendors and other business associates each year in support of a very worthy cause — helping children and their families,” said BGC President and CEO Rick Rayford. “Last year’s record-breaking donation of $450,000 further proves the commitment from our company and our vendor-partners to serving those in need in our communities.”
Since its inception, the Brookshire’s Benefit Golf Tournament has raised more than $3.8 million for nonprofit children’s organizations in the three states where BGC operates stores.
