Bill Thompson Named General Manager of Convotherm US

CHICAGO – Welbilt, an Ali Group company and a global leader in foodservice equipment and solutions, has announced the appointment of Bill Thompson as general manager of Convotherm US, effective July 1.

Thompson brings to the position more than a decade of leadership experience at Welbilt, having joined the organization in 2012. Over the course of his career, he has held a variety of roles with increasing responsibility across both the Convotherm and Merrychef brands. His previous positions at Convotherm include Field Marketing Manager for North and South America, and Director of Product Management, giving him a deep foundation in the brand’s strategy, product development and customer needs.

Since 2023, Thompson has served as Vice President of Global Sales for Merrychef, where he has played a key role in driving global growth and strengthening customer partnerships across multiple regions.

The Germany-based Convotherm, which began operations in 1976, designs and manufactures innovative high-quality combi ovens.
