Amazon Prime Now keeps upping the ante in Chicago. The online retailing behemoth's one-hour delivery service today said it is adding high-end foods purveyor Eataly to its line-up of Chicago restaurant and grocery partners, which now number well over 100. The Amazon delivery unit is competing with well-entrenched online food ordering and delivery services, such as Chicago-based GrubHub (NYSE: GRUB).

Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) Prime Now's new partnership with Eataly means more than 2,000 products at Eataly now will be available for one-hour delivery, including a range of fresh grocery and retail products, as well as beer, wine and spirits available at Eataly's Chicago outpost at 43 E. Ohio St., just off North Michigan Avenue, in Chicago's bustling River North neighborhood.

Noted Nicola Farinetti, Eataly USA CEO: "We figured it's better if everybody does their own job — the job they are well-known and respected for. Our job is quality. Amazon is second to none in logistics. We, together, can change the game of 'quality food delivered to your door'."
