Acme’s new leader comes from one of its biggest competitors.
Jim Perkins, who most recently worked as a regional vice president for Giant Foods, started his career at Albertsons in 1982 and rose as high as vice president of operations.
Acme was part of the January sale of five supermarket chains to AB Acquisition LLC, whose subsidiary Albertsons LLC will run the 877 stores.
Perkins’ job at Acme comes with a set of challenges.
