KINGSVILLE, Ontario — TriSon Farms, a third-generation family farming company based in Kingsville, Ontario, has officially broken ground on Phase 1A of its long-term, 100-acre greenhouse expansion plan.
The expansion represents a significant investment in TriSon Farms’ continued growth, strengthening its Canadian greenhouse production capacity and enhancing its ability to support growing retail and foodservice programs throughout Canada and the United States.
Construction is underway, with the new greenhouse expected to be completed and producing its first crop in July 2027.
The expansion is designed to increase TriSon Farms’ supply of Canadian-grown produce while providing additional capacity to develop and support long-term customer programs.
“As our customers continue to grow, we want to make sure we are investing ahead of that growth,” said Josh Mastronardi, vice president of marketing and sales at TriSon Farms. “This expansion gives us additional production capacity while allowing us to continue focusing on what matters most: consistent quality, dependable service and building long-term programs with our customers.”
Based in one of North America’s most important greenhouse-growing regions, TriSon Farms grows, packs and ships fresh greenhouse vegetables for customers across Canada and the United States.
The company specializes in greenhouse-grown cucumbers, tomatoes and bell peppers and continues to expand its production and distribution capabilities to serve retail, wholesale and foodservice customers.
For TriSon Farms, the investment also represents another chapter in the family’s agricultural history. Now in its third generation, the family is building the business and its farming operations with the fourth generation in mind.
“This isn’t just about adding more acreage,” Mastronardi said. “We’re building infrastructure and relationships that we hope will support our customers, our employees and our family for decades to come.”
Phase 1A marks the beginning of TriSon Farms’ broader 100-acre expansion plan, providing a platform for continued greenhouse growth as customer demand and program opportunities develop.
Ahead of the anticipated July 2027 production start, TriSon Farms will continue working with existing and prospective retail and foodservice partners to identify opportunities for the additional capacity.
