Nogales, AZ, June 1, 2010 – SUPERIOR Sales (MI, CA, AZ), has just introduced a new grape box as their first shipments of Sonora spring grapes are underway. Featuring a colorful, bold logo along with fruit art, the box has already received favorable comments from retailers only one week or so after being introduced.
SUPERIOR sales and category manager Brian LaForest notes: “Our new grape box is already receiving positive reviews. After many months of concept and planning, we settled on a simple yet bold design that best showcases our brand and product.”
SUPERIOR, founded in the 1940s, is a familiar and respected name in vegetables, but this is the first time it has branded grapes. The company has been building grower relationships in the Sonora region for several years now, and this is the result of that effort.
LaForest says that retailers have told him that the 18 lb. net, recyclable boxes hold up well and provide an attractive retail display. “For us on the shipping end it provides the confidence that the product we carefully select and pack will arrive in perfect condition” he adds.
The company has been shipping Perlettes and soon will pack Sugraones, Red Globes and Black Seedless (2nd week of June or so). About the deal, LaForest adds: “We expect this to be a rather short yet dynamic season, with pricing levels ideal for some aggressive promotion very soon.”
Other SUPERIOR products being shipped during spring and summer include asparagus, peppers, cucumbers, corn, squash, celery and other items (for a complete product list visit www.superior-sales.com). The company has sales offices in Michigan, California, and opened their new office focused on imports, SUPERIOR/South, in Nogales, AZ early this year, headed by LaForest.
