Since February 2022, volunteers from Peak of the Market and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers gather once per month to pack and deliver fresh produce to community service groups in Winnipeg and throughout Manitoba. These groups then distribute the produce to people in our community experiencing food insecurity. In other cases, the produce is distributed through community kitchens, soup programs or to support a variety of healthy food initiatives. Every single month, just over 10,000 pounds of food is donated and 1,000 families are fed. This program has recently won a Community Impact Award from Canadian Grocer Magazine.
