Monterey Mushrooms Expands Sales And Customer Service Staff

Monterey Mushrooms expanded it sales and customer service staff with the promotion of an existing employee and the addition of a sales manager.

Jill Moran was promoted from Western region customer service manager to national customer service manager.

Moran started with the company in 1991 in accounting and worked her way into the sales department in 2005 as the Western region customer service manager.  

As the national customer service manager, Moran is responsible for maintaining effective customer service for all external Monterey Mushrooms Inc. customers.  She will develop best practices for her department and establish uniform customer service practices for use in all company farms.

"The customer service team is the voice of Monterey Mushrooms to our customers,” said Mike O’Brien, vice president of sales and marketing. "The customer service team, under the leadership of Jill Moran, will play a leadership role in communicating to customers, as well as operations and sales regarding new projects, best practices, and new items, following them though to execution. These are key resources for the sales team."

The company also hired produce industry veteran, Dana Giacone, as the sales manager of Southern California, Arizona and Hawaii.

Giacone said, “It is exciting to be working with the market leader in the expanding mushroom category.   I’m looking forward to being part of a great team focused on customers.”

Giacone has extensive sales management and business development experience working with retailers, wholesalers, foodservice distributors and operators on regional and national levels.
