Newark, Del. — Megan Miller joined Produce Marketing Association (PMA) Aug. 2 as public relations manager, bringing her background in agriculture, media relations and industry outreach to the association’s public relations team.
Miller is responsible for creating and executing public relations activities supporting PMA member relations, events, products and services, including the 2010 Fresh Summit International Convention & Exposition slated for Oct. 15-18. Focusing on media relations and member communications, she will help expand the association’s use of social media and multimedia to connect with PMA members. She will also support the association’s issues and crisis management team. She reports to PMA Public Relations Director Julia Stewart.
Prior to joining PMA, Miller was communications manager for Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association in Philadelphia, a nonprofit group that works to build demand and sales of milk and dairy foods on behalf of dairy farmers. She was responsible for industry image and relations, and nutrition affairs communications, to more than 7,200 stakeholders and hundreds of health professionals in the Mid-Atlantic region.
“We are thrilled to add Meg’s real-world personal experience in agriculture, and her professional experience in ag communications, to the PMA team,” said PMA’s Stewart. “As our members look for new and more ways to get the information they need to grow their businesses, PMA will be there for them, providing year-round value to our members.”
Miller holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations, with a specialization in science, from Rowan University in Glassboro, N.J. She resides with her husband, Brandon, and son, Connor, on their dairy farm in southern New Jersey. Miller is the assistant leader of the Gloucester County 4-H Dairy Club and secretary of the Woodstown Future Farmers of America Alumni Association. Most recently, she and her husband were selected as the 2010 Young Cooperators through the Land O’Lakes Young Leader program.
