JOH Welcomes Robert Backer as a Produce Business Manager in the Mid-Atlantic Region

Billerica, MA – JOH is excited to welcome Robert Backer as a Produce Business Manager in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

Robert joins JOH with more than 30 years of experience in sales, merchandising and operations within the food industry. He began his career at a major grocery retailer in the Mid-Atlantic as a Produce Specialist and Manager, where he was recognized for achieving the highest gross profit and sales in the northern territory. Over the years, he advanced through roles in buying, category management and sales leadership, driving market growth and operational excellence across multiple organizations. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Retail Sales at Sunnyside Fresh, where his leadership significantly increased sales and strengthened customer partnerships.

Robert lives in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, with his wife, Carrie, and their two children, Bodhi and Blythe. When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, whether they’re cheering on the Orioles, watching the kids play soccer or relaxing together in the Outer Banks.
