The International Fresh Produce Association brought fresh produce and florals to one of the nation’s most beloved seasonal traditions at the White House to celebrate with a fresh taste of the fall harvest.

WASHINGTON – The International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) is once again bringing fresh produce and florals to one of the nation’s most beloved seasonal traditions, joining Halloween at the White House to celebrate with a fresh taste of the fall harvest.

Hosted by President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, this year’s celebration welcomes thousands of children and families to the South Lawn of the White House on Oct. 29 for an afternoon of trick-or-treating and seasonal festivities.

As part of the event, IFPA is partnering with several member companies to provide thousands of pumpkins and mums to bring the colors of the fall harvest to the White House. Association team members will distribute more than 4,000 fresh apples and baby carrots to trick-or-treaters, offering families a crisp, wholesome taste of the season alongside traditional Halloween treats.

Guests will have the opportunity to take home a Frey Farms mini pumpkin and take a photo with Nall Produce’s giant pumpkin weighing in at 942 pounds. These fresh offerings highlight IFPA’s belief that produce and florals belong at the center of every occasion, bringing joy, nourishment, and beauty to celebrations large and small.

“Fruits, vegetables, and florals define some of our most memorable and joyful moments,” said IFPA CEO Cathy Burns. “We’re delighted to bring a taste and display of the fall harvest to the White House and celebrate the growers who bring fresh, delicious food and florals to communities across the country.”

IFPA recognizes the following member companies for their generous contributions to make this year’s celebration possible:

  • Sarah’s Homegrown® Heirloom, Jack O’Lantern and mini pumpkins from Frey Farms with farms throughout the Midwest and Southeast
  • Mums were provided by van Hoekelen Greenhouses, Inc. in McAdoo, Pennsylvania and Metrolina Greenhouses in Huntersville, North Carolina
  • Apples were provided by North Bay Produce from Michigan
  • Carrots were provided by Grimmway Produce Group who grows carrots at farms across the country
  • Providing supply chain and logistics support were Keany Produce & Gourmet in Landover, Md.
