Perry, GA – The Georgia Pecan Commission is excited to announce the winner of its inaugural“Fall in Love with Georgia Pecans” Pin-It to Win-It contest.
To spread the word about the new Georgia Pecan Pinterest board, the Commission held its first-ever Pinterest contest from mid-September to mid-October. Georgia Pecans fans around the United States were invited to create a “Love GA Pecans” Pinterest board and pin five of their favorite Georgia Pecan Commission recipes. Submissions were posted on the Commission’s Facebook page for chance to win $500.
Charlette Bond of Livermore, California, was randomly selected as the grand prize winner. When asked her favorite way to use pecans, this mother of four and grandmother of 10 noted, “A cookie isn’t a cookie without pecans.”
“We are extremely pleased with the positive response to this contest,” explained John Robison, chairman of the Georgia Pecan Commission. “We’ve had consumers from across the United States visit our website, learn more about Georgia Pecans and check out the hundreds of recipes we have to share.”
As a result of the contest, “Likes” on the Georgia Pecan Commission’s Facebook page have doubled. The Commission also has added nearly 240 Followers on Pinterest.
