Cashmere, WA – The recent ad campaign by California based Carls Jr., features Kim Kardashian and their latest salads featuring Crunch Pak Sliced Apples.
Our apples have never looked so enticing, notes Tony Freytag, one of the founders and Crunch Paks Director of Marketing. We began working with the Carls Jr team in the spring and it is fun to see the rollout in over 1,200 restaurants. To say the least, the inclusion of Ms. Kardashian in the commercials has certainly had a positive boost to the salads. She makes them contemporary, fun, yes sexy, and healthy. Carls Jr. launched their New Grilled Chicken Salads last month. They come in three indulgent varietiesCranberry Apple Walnut, Southwest and Original. We have been involved with numerous salad concepts at the restaurant level for many years and we are very pleased with the initial movement from our end. The fact that apples are considered healthy is a natural addition to the salads.
From a supply side aspect, the fact that the apple slices arrive in bags, already sliced and with a 21-day shelf life at production, gives the restaurants a high quality, high flavor ingredient that is consistent throughout the year, notes Freytag. It also gives great portion control from the costing aspect of such an item as salads.
Ms Kardashian has recently appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to discuss her involvement with Carls Jr. Additional coverage on The OReilly Factor, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook have boosted the visibility of the campaign.
