Brea, California – Most recently, Western Beef & Seafood, LLC was able to assist the Boy's & Girl's club of Fullerton. Their goal: To provide quality educational and recreational programs to Fullerton's youth in a positive and safe environment. Lately, they were able to assist the Boys & Girls Club of Fullerton by contributing a large chest freezer full of USDA prime steaks to a raffle, of which the proceeds directly benefited the club. Now, the company is teaming up once again with the club to aid in a planned holiday fundraising with food event.
"Many of our kids come from disadvantaged circumstances, and we are dedicated to making a difference within their lives," says Andy Diaz, CEO of Western Beef & Seafood, LLC.
The Boys & Girls club of Fullerton, through Aaron Gregg, a local attorney, Rotary member and board member of the Boys & Girls Club, asked Andy Diaz initially to aid them in raising funds in a recent charitable effort. Aaron's idea was to raffle off a freezer full of gourmet meat & seafood with tickets priced at $20.00. Western Beef & Seafood would then provide a chest freezer full of USDA prime steaks, scallops, shrimp and chicken; the value of the freezer was worth more than $1,600.00, US.
The raffle was an immense success, raising more than $5,400.00 in all–and the winner of the chest freezer was Lee Chapman, a Fullerton resident and board member of the Boys & Girls Club. The success of this prior event was so beneficial to the organization that Western Beef & Seafood has been asked to present to the board an early September proposal on fundraising with food for the holidays.
Since the kids of the clubs are never asked, nor are they required, to sell anything in order to fundraise, Fred Johnson is fond of the idea of the kids working for some of the benefits that the club provides. A planned holiday fundraiser with Western Beef & Seafood will only require minimal effort by staff, and the kids are encouraged to help to sell food in order to raise funds for the club. The recipients (of the food) enjoy quality, wholesome and delicious eats, while the Boys & Girls Club raises the necessary funds it needs in order to continue its operations. And, Western Beef & Seafood provides an effective means in which all parties benefit.
Fundraising with food is just one way that Western Beef & Seafood strives to help and do their part by giving back to the community.
"Benefiting a great organization such as the Boys & Girls Club of Fullerton is a real pleasure for us," Diaz says. "They provide the children of our community with something fun and productive to do–while keeping them safe and off the streets, and free from drugs!"
A coordinated September holiday fundraiser is in the works between the entities.
Diaz closes by adding, "We really like what they do, and what they do is keep our children safe and build character! I have high hopes for the forthcoming holiday fundraiser…we aim to raise a significant amount of money for them during this upcoming holiday season!"
