U.S. retail-beef prices fell to $4.444 a pound in September from a revised record of $4.48 in August, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said today in a report on its website.
The price was up from $4.048 a year earlier, the USDA’s Economic Research Service said. The price is a composite that includes choice beef and other beef and hamburger values.
