Meat Packing Company May Buy Former Bridgeview Sports Dome

A site where golfers used to practice and kids played soccer may become home to a meat packing plant.

Bridgeview officials are talking with Stampede Meat about the latter purchasing five vacant acres at 8900 S. 77th Ave., former home to the Bridgeview Golf Dome destroyed by high winds during a winter storm in December.

At its Oct. 19 meeting, the village board unanimously approved a recommendation from a village committee to proceed with talks with Stampede Meat about the property.

“In that report, they have received one bid from Stampeded Meat, which is interested in purchasing the property and they want authorization to negotiation with Stampede Meat to finalize the sale,” Bridgeview Mayor Steve Landek said.
