Kroger's Cincinnati Dayton Division & Miller Poultry Join To Feed Neighbors In Need

CINCINNATI, OH – The Society of St. Vincent de Paul-Cincinnati is would like to thank the Cincinnati/Dayton Division of Kroger and Miller Poultry for their generous donation of more than 14,000 pounds of chicken drumsticks and chicken sausage, or more than enough for 10,000 meals, to help The Society feed our neighbors in need.

“In communities throughout Greater Cincinnati, about 300,000 food insecure people, including 100,000 children, are wondering where that next meal will come from,” said Liz Carter, executive director, St. Vincent de Paul-Cincinnati. “To be able to give some comfort and nourishment by sharing more than 10,000 meals is a blessing and we are grateful to Miller Poultry and Kroger for making it happen through their generosity.”

The chicken will be given to St. Vincent de Paul at an event on Thursday, December 20 at 9 a.m. at the Kroger store at 4777 Kenard Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45232. Representatives from St. Vincent de Paul, Kroger and Miller Poultry will be on hand for interviews and photo opportunities.

St. Vincent de Paul is currently partnering with Kroger and Fox 19 on the Food From the Heart Campaign. Kroger shoppers are asked to place non-perishable food items in the designated barrels in Kroger stores throughout Greater Cincinnati. St. Vincent de Paul volunteers share the food with struggling families near the store where it is donated. Barrels will be in the Kroger stores through December 13 and change boxes will be out through January 31 to help feed our neighbors in need. St. Vincent de Paul can turn just $1 into seven meals.
