In the early 20th century, the building located at 500 Delsea Drive served as a general store and also housed the Hurffville Post Office in the front corner.
The general store carried everything from fresh meat to shoelaces and Mason jars, said Bob Rugierro, the previous owner of Trim-Rite Meats which now occupies the historic building.
Rugierro took over ownership of the former general store/post office combination on Feb. 15, 1980. Exactly 30 years later, on Feb. 15, 2010, he relinquished ownership to Joe Blocklinger and Steve Casalnova, current co-owners of the Trim-Rite Meats butcher shop.
