COLUMBIA, S.C. – Throughout the month of June, South Carolina will celebrate locally produced beef, from burgers to roasts to steaks. Beef Month is an opportunity to appreciate the high quality, protein-filled meat from nearby producers.
The S.C. Beef Council will launch the national Summer Grilling Campaign on Memorial Day, May 30, just in time for the beginning of S.C. Beef Month. This year’s campaign will center on the time-honored tradition of grilling with fathers, in respect to Father’s Day on June 19.
South Carolina is home to more than 4,000 beef producers. Beef provides consumers with passion and “zip”- zinc, iron, and protein, explains Roy Copelan, with the South Carolina Cattleman’s Association and the South Carolina Beef Council.
“Beef is a center plate protein which promotes a healthy lifestyle; it’s the king of proteins,” said Copelan. “Our local beef producers provide each consumer with a safe and wholesome product year round.”
With 29 different lean cuts of beef, the variety which beef offers makes it a healthy meal solution. This summer, visit www.beefitswhatsfordinner.com to find great grilling recipes, rubs, and more.
