MONTVALE, N.J. – As one of the oldest supermarket chains in the country, The
Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, Inc. (A&P) (NYSE: GAP) has always been
deeply committed to serving its community and helping those less fortunate. This
holiday season, A&P is continuing this tradition by presenting Table to Table
with a donation in an effort to help feed the hungry and ensure that those in
need can have a happy, healthy holiday.
Table to Table is a community-based food rescue program that collects prepared
and perishable food and delivers it to organizations that serve the hungry in
Bergen, Hudson, Essex and Passaic counties throughout New Jersey. Table to Table
is the first and only food rescue program in Northeast New Jersey solely
dedicated to redistributing prepared and perishable foods.
A&P proudly presented its $20,000 donation in time for the Christmas holiday.
The Company provided almost 5,000lbs of its private label pasta “Smart Price”
and thanks to the generosity of Company’s vendor partners including Shady Brook
Farms and Allen Foods Table to Table also received over 15,000lbs of poultry.
