The hotel and meeting venue for the Winter Meeting will be the Metropole Hotel, a unique Art Deco hotel dating from 1895. It is situated in the historic centre of Brussels, at a short distance from the ‘Grand Place’, Brussels ‘ impressive central square dating mainly from the late 17th century, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Apart from the Union Fleurs meeting on 6 December, the programme will offer to participants a full guided tour of the European Union Institutions on 7 December: European Parliament, European Commission and Council of the European Union, as well as a stopover visit at the Union Fleurs office. This should provide an interesting insight into the functioning of the EU decision-making bodies and a better understanding of how Union Fleurs plays its role as the international umbrella organisation for the floricultural trade within the EU labyrinth.
Along with the opportunity to discuss issues of relevance to the floricultural sector and to network with other Union Fleurs members, there will also be a variety of social events for participants to enjoy, together with the best of Belgium enchanting gastronomy and fine beers.
