Ft. Lauderdale, FL — This year, the Tropical Plant International Expo (TPIE) attracted almost 7,500 nursery and landscape industry professionals from more than 40 countries, 46 states, Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico to explore emerging trends, discover new products and build meaningful connections. Held at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, the show reaffirmed its status as the premier global event for the foliage, floral and tropical plant industry.

The newly opened Omni Fort Lauderdale, located next door to the convention center, served as a standout venue for after-show meetups, offering waterfront views and modern meeting spaces designed to elevate the attendee experience.

TPIE once again delivered a dynamic mix of expert-led education, high-impact networking and a robust trade show floor. With 470 exhibitors, attendees explored cutting-edge products and connected directly with growers and suppliers ahead of the upcoming season.

“Every year, TPIE demonstrates why Florida is at the center of the horticulture industry,” said Tal Coley, chief executive officer of the Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association (FNGLA). “The energy on the show floor, the innovation on display and the global participation all reinforce the strength, resilience and economic importance of our industry.”

Produced by FNGLA, TPIE provides buyers with a centralized platform to explore wholesale offerings, engage with industry leaders, and initiate purchase orders.

“TPIE is where business gets done and relationships are built,” Coley added. “The success of this year’s show reflects the hard work of our industry and the continued demand for high-quality plants and landscape services.”

Before the show floor opened, FNGLA offered attendees an exclusive look behind the scenes of Florida’s tropical foliage industry through the 2026 TPIE Road Show. The full-day tour in Homestead featured visits to four leading nursery producers, giving participants a deeper understanding of large-scale production, emerging trends and the region’s critical role in the global plant market.

The opening session, “Cultivating Connection by Watering Our Weirdness: Discovering What Truly Connects People & Products,” set the tone for TPIE 2026 by challenging attendees to rethink how they connect with today’s consumers. The session, led by fashion psychologist and lifestyle futurist Jill Hawkins, explored how embracing emotional quirks and creative potential can strengthen relationships, build authentic brand influence and drive deeper engagement. Throughout TPIE 2026, attendees took part in educational workshops spanning topics from sustainable practices to emerging trends shaping the future of plant care and the green industry.

FNGLA bestowed awards to exhibitors for a variety of categories, including trending plants and products, exemplary booths and “coolest” products. Winners are featured on the TPIE website.

Save the date for TPIE 2027, as it promises to be a dynamic event where industry professionals gather to discover where the future of horticulture is headed. The trade event will return to the Broward County Convention Center on January 20-22, 2027.
