Jonny Son is an enigma. On one hand, according to his website, he is an interdisciplinary researcher, designer, engineer, artist, comedian, author, and playwright. He is a doctoral student at MIT, an affiliate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard, and a creative researcher at the Harvard metaLAB, where he studies social media, AI, and online community.
On the other hand, he is a true social media phenomenon with a Twitter following 569K, plus an additional 50K on Instagram. His quirky, funny and ironic posts get tons of engagement and he obviously has a young, hip, devoted following. Not to mention his recent Ted Talk already has a million views!
