ALEXANDRIA, VA — SAF’s annual Outstanding Varieties Competition, which offers growers from around the world the opportunity to showcase their standout varieties, will take place Sept. 6-8 at SAF Orlando 2022.
Industry judges will crown one variety Best in Show, rank 13 Best in Class varieties, and recognize dozens more with blue and red ribbons. The ribbon winners will be announced at the Kick-Off Breakfast on Sept. 8.
The judges will score each entry based on color and commercial appeal, stem and foliage, bloom form and consistency, and overall presentation. The competition is sponsored by Chrysal USA, which supplies the plant food, and Syndicate Sales, which supplies the vases used for the entries.
All attendees of SAF Orlando 2022 and members of the public are invited to check out the varieties which will be on display at the Hilton Orlando Sept. 6-8.
The Best in Show winner will be featured on the cover of Floral Management Magazine distributed in print and digitally. The top varieties will also be invited to an exclusive showing in front of thousands of the world’s best floral designers at the 2023 AIFD National Symposium in Chicago, IL.
