Plantipp BV Wins Six Medals At The Novelties Inspection At Plantarium 2018

IJsselstein – Plantipp BV has won no less than six medals at the novelties inspection at Plantarium 2018. And we are proud of that achievement!

Carex Evercolor® ‘Everglow’ has been awarded a gold medal. According to the jury report it is the a sturdy plant with good variegated foliage and with a particularly warm tone: "as if the evening sun shines on the plant". ‘Everglow’ is seen as a permanent adjustment to the Carex assortment.

A silver medal went to Nepeta Neptune ('Bokratune'PBR), Photinia fraseri Chico ('BR2011'PBR) and Vaccinium corymbosum Flamingo ('Hoogi045'PBR). Neptune has a nice compact growth habit and good branching and is therefore rich flowering. The flowers are relatively large. The jury states that this is an easy plant with an ornamental value even when it has finished flowering as it has healthy looking foliage. Neptune is available at Gebr. Th. & W. Alkemade from Lisse and FN Kempen from Mijdrecht. Photinia Chico has a distinctive growth habit for Photinia. The leaves are smaller and more pointed than 'Little Red Robin'. According to the jury, the bronze coloured shoots make it a striking plant. Chico is available at Bart van Roessel Tuinplanten from Haaren. Vaccinium Flamingo also got a silver medal because of the distinctive and innovative foliage colours. For this Vaccinium please contact Van den Dool Cultures from Waddinxveen or Handelskwekerij Hoogenraad from Ederveen.

Two bronze medals were for Euonymus japonicus 'White Spire'PBR and Hydrangea aspera Goldrush ('Giel'PBR). Euonymus 'White Spire' has a beautiful, upright growing habit and has – for a japonicus – relatively small leaves. Nice and stable variegation. 'White Spire' is marketed by Boomkwekerij Theo Wouters from St. Oedenrode. Hydrangea Goldrush got the jury's praise for the bushy growth and the distinctive foliage colours. Goldrush is available at Boomkwekerij Coonen from Baarlo.

Plantipp is proud of these awards and therefore proud of the breeders who have selected these beautiful species and the growers who have produced the nice show plants.
