NAALDWIJK – Recently sixteen lisianthus/eustoma growers in Naaldwijk got guidance from two experienced growers on how to provide own product images for the auction’s clock. This gathering was the first step in the practical preparations for auctioning lisianthus with images.
FloraHolland Naaldwijk has examined during the recent months the feasibility of auctioning lisianthus by image auctioning. Together with a ‘focus group’ (‘sounding board group’) of suppliers and buyers it was concluded, that this is possible. But before the actual starting FloraHolland made sure that the growers are prepared to provide appropriate photographs.
According schedule image auctioning for the lisianthus product group will start during the coming fall.
The lisianthus suppliers were invited to follow the virtual purchasing process. In a dealing room of a wholesaler they could watch the KOA (remote buying) in action. The buyers showed and explained the importance of a good image for the remote buying process.
