Nairobi – IFTEX, the international trade exhibition for flower growers in Kenya, has climbed with an incredible high speed to the top 3 list of flower growers trade shows. Together with Ecuador and Colombia, the 3 countries currently host worlds’ largest and most important trade shows for flower growers. Just 3 years ago IFTEX was launched for its first edition and has since then managed to get into the position it has taken now. For flower buyers this is a must-attend-event as it allows them to meet with all Kenyan flower growers at 1 location in just 3 days. An unique opportunity that safes them time, energy and money and enables them at the same time to be very efficient and complete in their search for their flower needs.

The number of exhibitors at this moment is 187 and it is likely that the ‘magical’ number of 200 will be touched. Also the number pre registered visitors has tripled so far compared to last year, and is also a firm sign that last year’s success will be repeated, to say the least.  A total of 3.500 visitors from 60 countries are expected to attend this year’s edition of IFTEX.

The opening of IFTEX will take place in the auditorium of the Oshwal Center on Wednesday June 4 at 10:00 am. During the opening ceremony also the prices of the different quality competitions will be awarded.  The various quality competitions for growers and breeders will this year be headed by Gerard de Wagt, a well known professional Dutch floricultural judge. For over 15 years Gerard de Wagt was leading the quality competitions for the former Dutch based Horti Fair.
