Tomorrow is National Doctors’ Day. A tradition dating back to 1933, people
originally observed National Doctors’ Day by mailing greeting cards to
physicians and placing flowers on the graves of deceased doctors.
The red carnation is commonly used as the symbolic flower for National Doctors
Day, but if your doctor is like Dr. Jason North of North Family Practice in
Cedar City, he or she may prefer something a little different this year.
“If each of my patients would exercise for a half hour or 45 minutes every day
for the next year, that would be the best present they could give me,” North
said, who also serves as medical staff president at Valley View Medical Center.
