Amsterdam – Organizers of the International Floriculture Trade Fair IFTF will put special emphasis on (foreign) exhibiting growers of flowers & plants in this year’s trade exhibition. IFTF must be a true growers expo in the first place. An event where the grower is not only visitor but exhibitor as well. Following the example of other flower trade fairs HPP has been organizing abroad in the past 25 years, such as the ones in Ecuador, Kenya, Ethiopia and Russia, also IFTF should reserve a prime role for the exhibiting grower.
Although the exhibition already has a considerable number of growers exhibiting since the fair started off in 2010, in order to push the expo to the next level and to make it even more attractive for the international buyers of flowers and plants to visit IFTF, it has been decided that as of this year extra attention will be given on attracting more growers to exhibit. “We will take care that Ecuadorian, Colombian, Kenyan, Ethiopian and growers from other flower producing countries will be able to present themselves to a maximum extent, in order to be able to offer a marketplace where buying and selling of flowers and plants can be done without conditions nor limitations”, according to Dick van Raamsdonk, General Manager of IFTF. “At this moment more than 75 flower growers already exhibit in the 2013 edition of IFTF, but we want to increase this number in order to achieve an even better balance between exhibiting growers, traders, suppliers and breeders.
The IFTF will this year for the first time be held during the same dates and at the same premises as IHTF, the new International Horticulture Trade Fair. Both fairs will be held from Wednesday November 6 to Friday November 8 at Expo Haarlemmermeer in Vijfhuizen, Holland. More information can be found at www.iftf.nl.
